Asking For Feedback, Blizzard Responds To Criticism On World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ New Torment System

The spirits behind World of Warcraft are constantly looking for new ways to push the boundaries. In recent months, they have returned to their old ways of paying close attention to what fans are saying and responding to it.

This has led to a wide variety of benefits for everyone involved – extending the double XP buff, implementing a double reputation buff, and even removing RNG-based systems like Titanforging and Warforging for the next World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion.

For many, this marked a return to the Blizzard of yesteryear. After years of much of the fan base feeling rejected and thrown away, this return to Blizzard by listening and reacting has delighted fans more than ever. Of course, part of listening is reaching out and looking for feedback. Blizzard did just that by going to the forums to ask the community what they thought of the last mechanic added to Shadowlands’ alpha, Torments.

We discussed at length the torments yesterday, which you can catch up here. Essentially, the torments act as a kind of soft timer in Torghast, Tower of the Damned, slowly increasing the difficulty with buffs and stacking debuffs to speed you up or force you out.
